If you missed out the the Figma Link action figure that was supposed to make its US landing over the holidays, then I might have something else for you. There is going to be a 1/6 scale Medicom Real Action Hero Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Link figure coming this Fall.
I don’t think that there was anyone that was anticipating that this figure was coming. The Nintento superstar just arrived as a Figma not too long ago, and now he’s coming at almost double the size! The images that have been released so far make this guy look like quite the figure.
He stands about 30 cm tall or about 12 inches, the standard for 1/6 scale. Like the rest of the RAH (Real Action Hero) figures, Link comes with real cloth clothing, recreating his in-game look perfectly.
Medicom didn’t take any shortcuts on the accessories for this figure. He comes pretty loaded. Your going to be getting his Master Sword, Hylian Shield, Stamina Beetle, Figure Stand, and even the Sacred bow and arrow! Check out those accessories:
While I’m really starting to develop a serious addiction to 1/6 scale figures, I don’t know about this figure. I would love to add a 1/6 scale Link to my collection, but the price is just insane on this guy. His SRP is 20,790 yen or about $217. I have seen one pre-order for as low as $165 though. You can find that HERE.
For the full SRP this guy is an easy pass for me. Hot Toys figures cost less in most cases and their quality is the best of the best. To me this figure is about $100 over priced. I know there is a lot of people that aren’t going to be able to purchase this figure fast enough though. What do you think about this figure? Is this a must buy for you? Or an easy pass? This seems so cool, but the price is way out there, but I don't see why. As a huge fan, this is something I would like to get my hands on.
When I was younger, I would play with Barbies all the time. Let's see how Brabie and Link are similar. Some Barbie's are jointed(cleaning my room, I came across some Barbie's that are jointed in the arms and legs. Regular ones just bend at the knees, which I own too.), so is this Link. Barbie's are made of plastic, so is Link. Barbie comes with fabric clothes, so does this Link. Barbie comes with accessories, so does this Link. Barbie is 11.5 inches tall, Link is 12 inches tall. That's still close.
Barbie's are around $20 and Link is around $160 to $200. Why??? The only differences I see is that Barbie's hair is made of nylon, not plastic and that Link is a boy. Is it because he is rare? It isn't made of solid gold. If it was, I can see it being outrageously priced, but it isn't. So what gives?
I should see what it costs after the figure unleashes.
I can agree with you on this one. The price for this figure (and the entire RAH line by Medicom) is really outlandish. The quality in their figures is sub-par, so they shouldn't be so expensive.
For the pricing you do have to consider that the figure comes with more accessories, better paint applications, better quality clothes, and better articulation than a Barbie. Worth $200? I think not. I too really want this figure, but the price is just way to far out there on this guy.
Another difference with Link and Barbie would be the changing facial expressions.
