McFarlane Toys The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Figures and Buckbeak

McFarlane Toys Harry Potter line starts later this year!

A short while ago a listing popped up on Amazon for McFarlane Toys Harry Potter 7″ figures which had images of the upcoming figures from the wave. If you remember the figures were shown at Toy Fair earlier this year and they couldn’t be photographed.

In this wave will be Harry, Ron and Hermione and Lord Voldermort from Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. I have to say the likeness to Emma Watson is pretty darn good and the likeness to Rupert Grint isn’t the best and the likeness to Daniel Radcliffe is a bit obscured because of the glasses. The likeness to Ralph Fiennes is very good despite him being under quite a lot of makeup in the film.

I’m sure they’ll look better in hand than they do here, much like the Game of Thrones figures that McFarlane started releasing recently. I find it very interesting that they’ve chosen to give Voldermort a soft goods cloak, then again that wouldn’t hinder the articulation which is the right move to make. I hope that McFarlane release removable fabric cloaks when they do Harry, Ron and Hermoine in their school uniforms so you can display the characters either way.

Of course, each figure will come with their Patronus’s as well as their wands (aside Voldermort who comes with Nagini) Each figure will feature over 22 points of articulation as well as their own display stands with background displays that can be attached to the display bases. This wave of figures is expected to be released in July.

Much like what McFarlane Toys are doing with the Game of Thrones license they’ll be releasing a series of creatures in their own line The first creature in the line will be Buckbeak the Hippogriff from The Prisoner from Azkaban.

Buckbeak measures 4.5″ long 10″tall and has a 13″ wingspan, though it’s not clear at this point of time how he’ll scale with the 7″ Harry Potter figures. The detailing looks absolutely fantastic on Buckbeak especialy for the size which he is.

Like the dragons in the Game of Throne line, Buckbeak comes with a removable flight stand too. Buckbeak also features 10 points of articulation. Buckbeak is expected to hit store shelves in August of this year,

Overall I think these are fantastic looking figures and if your a Harry Potter fan (such as myself) these are must-haves.
