Mattel to Release DC Universe Unleashed Doomsday Action Figure after all

When MattyCollector’s DCUC line didn’t meet its subscription goal last year, many collectors were totally let down. Where would they get they DC Universe fix in action figure form? Since the line ended, many collectors demanded that Mattel make some final figures to really finish of the line. One of those figures was the DC Universe Unleashed Doomsday action figure, which we were told would never happen so we should just stop hoping for it.

As a San Diego Comic-Con 2014 exclusive, Mattel gave us Doomsday, but it was the much less popular containment suit version. Now that SDCC has passed and Mattel was able to move their stock of the containment suit Doomsday figure, they have just announced the Doomsday Unleashed action figure. Surprised?

Mattel says that this figure is going to celebrate the official end of the Four Horsemen 6-inch DC Universe line. He’s going to be available this winter as a stand along figure, meaning you don’t need a subscription to purchase the figure on the day it goes up for sale. He comes packaged in a window box diorama. Mattel promised more details and images in the future.
