This review is the first figure for the Return of Marvel Legends! Toy Biz originally set the standard for the 6-inch figures that we can enjoy today from Hasbro. Today we are going to be taking a look at the Marvel Legends Wave 1 Steve Rogers action figure review.
Now I know this review is way past due but I am going to do it anyways. The other figures in this wave are Hope Summers, Iron Man, Klaw, Constrictor, Ghost Rider, Thor and Terrax (the complete BAF).
Packaging
For the packaging it clearly shows you what BAF piece that you are getting. The bubble is secured with tabs and then taped on the back. On the back of the card you get some pretty good art of Steve Rogers and a very brief description of the character. Along the bottom of the card you can see all of the figures in the Marvel Legends Wave 1.
For the most part I like the packaging but there is one thing that I absolutely hate. On the front of the card where it reads “Build A Figure Collection” there is that tab that sticks out. Because of the way that they are placed in the case that tab gets damaged almost every time. I received 3 cases of Marvel Legends and there was probably 95% of the figures that had that part of the card damaged.
Other than that the packaging is pretty nice.
Out of the Box
Once you get Steve Rogers out of the box what will see the excellent sculpt. The body is a partial re-use but that is ok. He does have a completely new head though, so that thats a plus. All of the bodies in this wave a pretty good with a few small complaints.
He has a nicely sculpted (removable) belt, shoulder straps, and shin guards. His back features a small hole that you can use to store the shield in or even a flight stand. He comes with 2 silver pistols and the Captain America shield. Now he doesn’t actually come with pistol holsters but you can use his leg straps and put the guns in there. It works nicely. His hands are actually sculpted perfectly to hold both of the guns.
Steve comes with Terrax’s lower torso.
The paint of him is pretty clean with a slip up here and there. Overall I am pretty impressed.
Articulation
As for articulation, it is pretty nice. His head can go up and down and left and right. He has the most movement in his head for the figures in this wave.
For his joints you can expect swivel hinge shoulders, a twist in his biceps, double jointed elbow and a twist in his forearm. He has the torso joints a twist in his waist, swivel hinge hips, a double jointed knee and hinged ankles.
Overall I would say this is one of my favorite figures in the Marvel Legends Wave 1. Definitely worth picking up.
