Marvel Legends Wave 1 Iron Man Action Figure Review

Lets take a peak at the Marvel Legends Wave 1 Iron Man Action Figure Review. Iron Man is the third figure in the Return of Marvel legends.

The other characters in the Marvel Legends wave 1 are Steve Rogers, Hope Summers, Klaw, Constrictor, Ghost Rider, Thor, and Terrax (the BAF for wave 1).

Marvel Legends Wave 1 Iron Man Action Figure Packaging

The packaging is pretty nice for all of the figures in the return of Marvel Legends. There is great artwork featuring the character on the front and the back. There is a short paragraph about Iron man and the other characters in the wave shown on the back of the card.

For the most part the packaging is pretty nice but I do hate one thing with a flaming passion. On the front of the card where it reads “Build A Figure Collection” there is a small tab of cardboard that sticks out. That part was damaged on almost all of the figures that I recieved for wave 1. No big deal because I opened him but it would be annoying if you were a MOC collector.

Extremis Iron Man is packaged with Terrax’s right leg.

Out of the Box

Out of the box Extremis Iron Man looks pretty good. He is very skinny so I don’t think that Tony Stark is actually inside. Maybe he is Tony Stark’s evil brother. Sidewise Iron Man is pretty small compared to the other figures in the wave.

He doesn’t come with any accessories or even a helmet less head or removable face mask. What a shame. One of his hands is like a half of a fist and the other one is fully open.

His paint is a nice metallic red which looks very nice. Both of his hands have repulsers in his palms that are painted white. For the most part this newly sculpted Extremis Iron Man is great aside from the articulation.

Articulation

The articulation on Iron Man is just terrible. Especially in his hip region. I really appreciate Hasbro trying to hide the swivel in the thigh, but it was a fail. For his joints he has full range of motion for his head (up and down), Ball joint shoulders, swivel bicepts, double jointed elbow, swivel/hinge wrists, swivel hinge torso joint, swivel/hinge hips, swivel thighs, double jointed knees, and swivel/hinge ankles.

Overall the articulation is good if you forget about the hip region. His head moves up and down enough for him to look fantastic in a flying pose.
