Black Panther Gets Some New Fantastic Figures!

A big surprise for everyone earlier this year was at SDCC  when Hasbro announced that they’ll be releasing another series of Black Panther movie figures!

When the first series was released there weren’t many characters from the film released in the wave. And if you’ve seen the film there’s quite a number of characters and different costumes that could have been in the wave.

Now Hasbro is releasing a second wave from the film and all the figures in this wave will be characters from the film. In this wave we’ll be getting:

  • Black Panther
  • Vibranium Black Panther
  • Dora Milaje
  • Erik Killmonger
  • Ulysses Klaue
  • T’Chaka Black Panther

Also, the build-a-figure from this wave is fan favorite M’Baku. If you’re wondering why Shuri isn’t in this wave is because she is being saved one of the Avengers waves that’ll be coming out next year.

It’s great that most of the figures from this wave will come with accessories. The two figures of Black Panther will come with an interchangeable T’Chala head. I like how they have different facial expressions, I really love the smirk head.

The likeness to Chadwick Boseman is even better on these heads than it was with the figure in the first wave. I know other fans were hoping for an Erik Killmonger figure in the tactical suit that he wears for most of the film, and like them, I’m very happy they made it.  He also comes with some weapons and the iconic mask he wears which looks great.

It’s great that the secondary antagonist Ulysse Klaue is getting a figure and I have to say they have captured Andy Serkis’s evil grin perfectly. The interchangeable forearm and hand is a great touch. The cannon looks well detailed and the split apart hand looks great.

Getting a generic Dora Milaje with three interchangeable heads is fantastic as T’Chala had at least six of these guards with him in the film and having a number of these & Okoye behind T’Chala would look fantastic on the shelf. I’ll definitely be getting a number of these. She comes with the same accessories that Nakia and Okoye came with which is all she needs really.

It’s great that we’re getting a T’Chaka figure. I really loved his Black Panther armor with the tunic and sash. It looks fantastic and the tunic and sash look very colorful and well detailed. You can see there’s quite a number of differences between his and his son’s as it looks like he’s wearing trousers with different boots. His mask is also different and his armor has gold decoration rather than silver. This one is a must-have from the wave for me.

M’Baku will look very imposing when you collect all the BAF pieces. It looks like they’ve captured Winston Duke’s likeness very well. I really love the detailing on his costume a mixture of armored parts and pelts it looks incredible and I love the bronze look to the armor. He’ll undoubtedly stand out on the shelf.

It should be noted that these figures will be using the face printing tech which is now used on all MCU Legends figures.

Sadly we don’t know when this wave will be released but I expect it’ll be released in the Spring of next year.
