Kotobukiya Releasing Marvel Universe Thanos Fine Art Statue
It’s About Time We Got a Marvel Universe Thanos Fine Art Statue From Kotobukiya
Kotobukiya and Marvel comics have partnered up in creating a great new statue for their Marvel Universe line. This time, we are getting a Marvel Universe Thanos Fine Art Statue. Thanos has been a well-known enemy of the Avengers ever since his first appearance in 1973, and although there have been numerous depictions of the character, Kotobukiya opted for probably the most famous one: Thanos, the Mad Titan, wearing his infinity gauntlet.
This incredible statue will stand at incredible 15.5 inches tall (~40 cm) and features an authentic likeness to the character. Both the sculpt and the paint were done in incredible detail, showing Thanos standing with his legs separated, his right hand in a fist, and his left hand wearing the infinity gauntlet with all 6 infinity gems in their place. This statue of the Mad Titan will also come with two swappable heads, one regular showing him smirking, and the other head showing a rather intimidating angry one. Thanos comes standing on a circular base covered with the skulls of his fallen enemies.
As mentioned, this is not the first statue in the Fine Arts line and would look amazing if combined with some older ones such as Black Panther or Rogue. In any case, he is a definite must-have, especially if you plan on giving your Avengers action figures a worthy foe.
Pre-orders have begun on Kotobukiya’s online store as well as on other sites such as Big Bad Toy Store, Entertainment Earth, and Amazon, for a price of somewhere between $269.99 and $299.99, depending on the retailer. The Marvel Universe Thanos Fine Art Statue has an estimated release date sometime in December 2016. The price might seem a bit high, but it is definitely worth it considering the overall quality of the statue.
