Kotobukiya’s Hulk vs. Hulkbuster Statue depicts epic ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Scene
The release of the hotly anticipated The Avengers: Age of Ultron is almost upon us and to coincide with the release, Kotobukiya has just recently unveiled a Hulk vs. Hulkbuster statue depicting the epic battle from the trailer.
I have to say these statues look absolutely amazing together. The sculpts individually look amazing and look as if they’ve just leaped off the screen.
Hulk is wearing is his red and blue shorts, which both Bruce Banner and Tony Stark created. Bruce Banner looks really angry as the Hulk, with his clenched teeth and closed fists. You can see all the detail in his rippling physique, especially in the arms and legs. They’ve captured Ruffalo’s likeness perfectly when he becomes angry. The skin tone looks fantastic, with different shades of green, which makes him look really realistic.
I love the sculpt of his base where his feet are standing with destroyed brickwork beneath them. It’s a really great touch.
The Iron Man in the Hulkbuster looks even more impressive than the Hulk himself. It looks exactly how it did in the trailer. The Hulkbuster armor retains the look of his original Mk. 42 armor, which is gold and red. You can see some of the workings of the suit beneath the armor. It also has some light battle damage throughout, as you can little marks and scratches.
The Hulk is nine and a half inches tall and Hulkbuster Iron Man towers in at eleven and a half inches tall. They’ll be in scale with Kotobukiya’s other ARTFX+ statues in the 1/10 scale. So you need not worry if you thought they are a different scale; they’re just very large characters.
It’s not known when they’ll be released or how much they’ll cost but I know they’ll be released at the same time so you can recreate the iconic scene on your display shelf.
If you’re a fan of The Avengers, the upcoming films and the characters, this statue is a must have. It truly looks awesome.
