Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade Adventure Series Figures

Yesterday Hasbro released the latest wave of the Indiana Jones Adventure Series figures up for pre-order. This wave is themed on The Last Crusade with four figures from the film and two being from The Dial of Destiny. The figures are Indiana Jones, Henry Jones Sr, Dr. Elsa Schneider, Grail Knight, Dr. Jurgen Voller, & Renaldo.

Overall this wave looks absolutely fantastic, I couldn’t be happier with this wave’s offerings. The four characters from The Last Crusade look excellent and come with a good wealth of accessories. The likeness to Henry Jones Sr & The Grail Knight is spot on, especially for the knight who had less than ten minutes of screen time. I was blown away by that, if you take the glasses off Henry you can really see the likeness to the late Sean Connery. I really like the sculpt of Indiana Jones himself which looks very close to Harrison Ford in my opinion, then again I have never really had an issue with the Indy figures personally. I can see Alison Doody in Elsa, but it looks just a bit soft and closer to her in the hat-wearing head.

I have not seen The Dial of Destiny yet, but I can say the likenesses to Mads Mikkelsen and Antonio Banderas are absolutely spot-on. I really like the array of accessories the Last Crusade figures come with. I am surprised Henry comes with so much a removable hat, glasses, umbrella, briefcase, and journal. That’s everything he pretty much needs. Indiana Jones comes with most of the same accessories that we have seen before, but there’s enough new stuff here in the sculpt with the new shirt torso with the tie sculpted on, a new head with an articulated hat which is something I didn’t expect to see. He also has an MP40 which he used to rescue his father in the iconic ” Don’t call me Junior!” scene.

It’s always nice to see interchangeable heads with the figures and the alternate head for Elsa looks fantastic. I really like the hatted head. She also comes with the false Holy Grail and I’m surprised none of the figures come with the real grail (yet)

I guessed that we would see the Grail Knight in the line and I am really blown away by him and I really love the accessories he comes with the sword, removable sheath, and a removable cloak. I cannot wait to get him. I haven’t seen the film yet but I know Dr. Jurgen is the villain of the film and he doesn’t come with much aside a satchel. I wonder if we’ll get another figure of him after the film is released to avoid spoilers. I don’t know much about Antonio Banderas’s character but I really like the likeness of the actor and the removable hat is a great accessory.

Making the Build-An-Artifact the Grail Table is genius and it looks incredible. I really like the knight atop it. It’s a great mini version of the prop we saw in the film. During the live stream the day before they didn’t show any pipeline reveals which got some fans worried (including myself) that this would be the end of the line, even though Hasbro hasn’t officially said so nor have we seen any figures from Kingdom of The Crystal Skull and there’s a number of major and supporting characters still missing so I wouldn’t say it’s the end yet. SDCC is just under a month away and we might see something then as the Indy figures haven’t shown up at a convention since the announcement of the line.
