How To Ship Boxed Toys
In a past article I have covered how you can ship carded action figures the correct way. Today I am going to go over how to ship boxed toys. The toy that I am going to be shipping is small, but this will work on such toys as vehicles or action figures in boxes.
How To Ship Boxed Toys – What You Need:
- Bubble Wrap
You aren’t going to want to use too cheap of tape because it is quite the mystery what USPS does with packages in the mail. Sometimes you can receive them just fine and other times you wonder what happened to you package. Use quality shipping tape to ensure that you package doesn’t burst open. For bubble wrap I just use the small bubbles, 3/16″ bubbles. You can use bigger bubbles if you want more protection. The box size is obviously going to depend on the size of the toy. Since I sell a lot of Funko Pop! toys I have boxes that fit the figures exactly inside them. For added protection for more valuable items get a box that has extra space around the item to fill with packing peanuts or paper.
Packing the Toy
You are going to want to have a piece of bubble wrap that is big enough to wrap around the box at least once. Center the box on the bubble wrap and wrap it around and then tape it. (see picture)
Now you will fold the ends in like you are wrapping a present, making triangles. Tape each end. (see pictures)
Place the toy in the box like in the picture below and that’s it! Seal the box and you are ready to ship your toy.
Now there are a few things that you can change if you think that this is not enough protection. You can wrap the toy in more layers of bubble wrap or use a bigger shipping box and surround the toy in paper as said before. I use this method and have had just 1 or 2 damaged items out of 500+ shipped toys like this one. Just remember that the more protection you are giving the item, the more money you are using (supplies and shipping cost).
