Hot Toys Transformers G1 Optimus Prime (Starscream Version) 12-Inch Figure

Hot Toys, possibly the highest-quality action figure manufacture in the world, has just announced that they have secured the rights to make Transformers figures. Their first figure, under license from Hasbro Inc., is going to be a Hot Toys Transformers G1 Optimus Prime (Starscream Version) 12-inch figure.

Coming straight out of the highly popular The Transformers Generation 1, comes Hot Toys very first Transformer figure. It stands approximately 30cm (12 inches) tall, featuring a highly detailed mechanical structure and remarkable painting applications with distress effect, a pair of Starscream’s wings, weapons, and a rocky ground diorama base with Autobots’ logo.

It doesn’t appear that the figure actually transforms, but of course the figure is going to come loaded with articulation and different accessories. All in all he has 36 points of articulation, which is actually about the same as standard Hot Toys Iron Man figure. He features LED lights in his eyes and chest, and if you pre-order the figure through Sideshow Collectibles you will as get a special-edition Starscream Head accessory.

Pre-orders and pricing haven’t quite been announced yet, but if you are looking to pre-order the special edition of the figure, you need to keep your eyes on this page. The figure is expected to start shipping in Q2-Q3 of 2015.
