It hasn’t been too long since Hot Toys announced the amazing Han Solo and Chewbacca figures, which were very well received by the fans. We were very happy to see the high standard of craftsmanship that Hot Toys is known for being applied to the first wave of high-end Star Wars action figures.
Today, Hot Toys shifts its focus from the Rebel Alliance to the Galactic Empire as they present one of the most iconic soldiers in the Star Wars saga, the Stormtrooper sixth scale figure.
The highly accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Stormtrooper in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope featuring the meticulously crafted Stormtrooper armor and helmet, detailed weapons, and a specially designed figure stand.
In the Star Wars movies not all Stromtroopers are created equal. Meaning that they aren’t all the same size. Hot Toys realized this and has created a Stormtrooper sixth scale figure set that features two Stormtroopers, which are each a different height. I have a small hunch that Hot Toys is going to repurpose this set later on down the line for a Han and Luke in disguise set, but really who knows?
However, I’m definitely not going to be taking the risk of relying on Hot Toys to reuse this set again later on down the line. I’m going to be purchasing this set as soon as it is available for pre-order because Stormtroopers are my favorite characters in the Star Wars saga and I can’t have a sixth scale collection without them.
I haven’t been collecting 12-inch action figures for that long, but in that little time that I have been collecting them I have added about 50+ figures to my collection and I can honestly say that none of the figures that I have so far has excited me as much as the Hot Toys Stormtrooper.
Hot Toys is making the Stormtrooper available as a single figure, or as a 2-pack set, which will come with an additional heavy blaster and a mouse droid as bonus accessories that are only available if you purchase the 2-pack. Clearly your only option is to purchase the 2-pack if you are as big of a Stormtrooper fan as me. It’s like a dream come true…
Pre-orders will likely be going up really soon here. They are planned for release in Q2 – Q3 of 2015. Don’t wait too long to pre-order though, as I just might be buying them all.
