Hot Toys Announces Star Wars 1/6th and 1/4th Scale License
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away… Hot Toys has finally announced that they have acquired the Star Wars license. Their agreement with Lucasfilm allows them to manufacture collectible figures in the 1/6th and 1/4th scales.
Before Hot Toys made the announcement that they are able to manufacture their own Star Wars collectible figures, they had teamed up with Sideshow Collectibles to make their very first Star Wars sixth scale figure, Luke Skywalker (Bespin Outfit). This new agreement allows Hot Toys to manufacture their own Star Wars figures without the help of Sideshow Collectibles and their Star Wars license.
It’s currently unclear if this announcement means that Sideshow Collectibles has lost the right to keep making Star Wars figures, but we have reached out to Sideshow to get further clarification.
Hot Toys Star Wars is now an official thing. They have the rights to make figures from the Star Wars Universe, which includes the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode VII that is set to hit theatres in December, 2015. May the Force by with Hot Toys in the future!
