Hot Toys Stan Lee 12-inch Figure Coming Soon, Excelsior!

When GoHero announced the first ever Stan Lee 12-inch action figure, I was ecstatic. I mean, I had the chance to order one of the first collectible action figures of the man responsible for most of the characters in my collection. I just couldn’t pass it up. I ordered it, but was majorly disappointed when it arrived.

The quality just wasn’t there to stand in beside the rest of my Hot Toys collection. I was really hoping that there would be a Hot Toys Stan Lee 12-inch figure, but I knew that I couldn’t count on it, especially since GoHero literally just made him a few months ago, and you can still find him at his standard (very expensive) retail price at some stores.

I suspect from the time GoHero made their announcement, Hot Toys started working on their own version of Stan Lee. They just can’t let another company have more fame than them. Looking at the early prototype images of the head sculpt, this figure appears to be worlds ahead of what GoHero recently released.

The only thing that we can hope for on this release is a decent price. Word on the street that Stan Lee was actually responsible for the steep price on GoHero’s release, so let’s not hope that’s the same case with Hot Toys.
