It should be no secret that Hot Toys loves their Marvel collectibles. This was very evident over the past year while Hot Toys was on the quest to make all of the Iron Man armors that were featured throughout Iron Man 3. The New Year, 2015, also looks to be another Marvel year (at least by the looks of it right now) since Hot Toys has just announced they will be making 10 Avengers: Age of Ultron sixth scale figures!
The announcement came in the form of a teaser image, which basically shows all of the 12-inch action figure bases lined up, sans figures. Some people probably don’t like this kind of teaser since it doesn’t show any part of the figures, but I don’t mind a teaser like this at this point, since not much about the movie has been made available.
In the image above, the action figure bases read as follows from the back:
- Hulk
- Scarlet Witch
- Iron Man
- Quicksilver
- Captain America
- Vision
- Thor
- Hawkeye
- Black Widow
- Ultron
… And that list isn’t even counting the insanely anticipated Hot Toys Hulkbuster (will NOT be diecast). So that actually makes 11.
I thought it might be a little bit fun to try to guess the Hot Toys prices, then when they are actually “officially” announced we can reference this page and the comments section to see who was the closest. I have already left my comment below with my estimates.
I was able to pick up all of the already released Avengers line from the first movie and I can’t quite decide if I need to rebuy all of the characters I already have. The costumes the characters are wearing are different (see figures revealed at Toy Soul 2014), but I don’t major differences (like a complete color change, etc.) that warrants spending $1,000+ so I can have two versions. Though with that being said, I’ll probably buy them all because I’m addicted and can’t resist.
I’m really curious to know what everyone else is doing. Are you going to be buying all of the figures you already have? Are you just going to pick and choose what you like? Or are you only going to buy the new characters?
Let me know in the comments below with your price estimate!
Here is my price estimate for all of the Age of Ultron figures:
Hulk – $310
Scarlet Witch – $
Iron Man – $344.99
Quicksilver – $280
Captain America – $230
Vision – $280
Thor – $250
Hawkeye – $260
Black Widow – $220
Ultron – $350
Hulkbuster – $750
Check the scale between a regular Mark, Igor (Mark XXXVIII)… I do believe that HulkBuster price will be around $850-1000
Ha Ha. I actually used that exact image to estimate Hulkbuster.
Here was my logic:
He’s going to be around 22-inches in the 1/6th scale. He’s not going to be made of diecast. He’s going to have a Mark 42 head sculpt, which could potentially be reused. A quarter scale figure is about $500. I added on $250 for the Iron Man armor.
It’s defiantly going to be shocking when the price is made available. I’m hoping that since he’s so anticipated that Hot Toys will cut us a break. $750 is probably on the low end, but I wouldn’t expect it to be more than $850. If it breaks that my mind is going to be blown and so will my wallet.
Thanks for the comment by the way.
I actually wouldn’t bee surprised if the new characters (Vision, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Ultron) break over $300, especially looking at how much Darth Vader costs.
I will have to see them first, but I might get 2 or 3. Plus, maybe, Thor and Hawkeye since I don’t have those characters already. Ultron is probably a must-have.
Price and quality prohibiting, I hope to pick up Hulkbuster, The Vision, and Ultron. Guessing it will be 1250ish for the three.
Ultron and The Vision will be around 300 each. I could see some type of deluxe set for Ultron or him costing more if it’s a full figure with another destroyed figure or a ton of accessories. Hulkbuster price is an enigma. He’s not Diecast, but he will have a lot more lite up features than a normal figure. Also, demand/hype/current price increases could put the figure anywhere from 700-1000. We’ll see.
I am so excited to see the Scarlet Witch figure. She was my favorite part of the movie and I am hoping my first Hot Toys figure.
