First seen on display at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, we got our first look at the upcoming Hot Toys John Blake and Jim Gordon with Bat-Signal sixth scale figure set based on it’s appearance in The Dark Knight Rises. Now that several months have passed, Hot Toys is getting ready to put this amazing set up for pre-order.
Now there are actually two different ways you can get your hands on the Bat-Signal, though they both involve buying an extra figure. You can either buy the Bat-Signal with only John Blake, or you can buy the Bat-Signal with Jim Gordon and John Blake. Fans that were hoping to score the Bat-Signal on a stand alone release seem to be out of luck at this time.
The movie-accurate John Blake collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of the Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake in the film featuring a newly developed head sculpt, specially tailored Gotham City police uniform, detailed weapons and accessories.
The movie-accurate Jim Gordon collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of the Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon in the film featuring newly tailored outfit, and detailed accessories.
The 1/6th scale Bat-Signal collectible is highly detailed and finely crafted based on its appearance in The Dark Knight Rises. It is meticulously constructed with remote-controlled LED light-up function, specially painted with distress effect, and rotatable base.
As time continues to fly by, Hot Toys continues to impress. As of lately they have been really trying to sell the collectible figure sets, and it seems to be working. It’s a very clever tactic to up sell many collectors.
For example, Hot Toys released Jim Gordon long ago as a convention exclusive. Collectors that jumped on the Hot Toys bandwagon too late missed out on the figure and now he’s demanding quite the pretty penny on eBay. Now if you want to get your hands on Jim Gordon, you are going to need to buy the most expensive set out of the two that Hot Toys is currently offering. I don’t think it’s too bad of a deal though if you don’t have Jim Gordon already, since you are also getting a John Blake figure. Though, if you don’t want John Blake, you are stuck with him either way.
