Hot Toys Dancing Groot Quarter Scale Figure from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Marvel Studios’ latest blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy, took the world by storm earlier this year. Groot quickly became many fans’ most favorite character and it’s easy to see why when you just think of the super cute scene with baby Groot dancing to The Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back“. It was certainly one of the most memorable scenes from the movie.

Back when Hot Toys was announcing most of their Guardians of the Galaxy product (I’m still waiting on Drax though), Hot Toys realized just how popular dancing Groot was, so they added him to their Groot sixth scale figure set. Now Hot Toys is giving the little star even more press with the announcement of the Hot Toys Dancing Groot quarter scale figure.

The movie-accurate Little Groot Collectible features 3 interchangeable head sculpts, special paint application to reflect his distinctive appearance, and movable arms and body to recreate Little Groot’s dancing scene.

It’s unclear how the figure is articulated, as I can’t see any joints on the figure. I speculate that they have used some kind of flexible wire in the figure’s body to help hold the pose.

Even in the 1/4 scale, the figure actually only measures about 12cm tall. This should be good news for people hoping to add this figure to their collection, as the price should be low. We shall see if that happens though.
