Over the past few years, it’s become evident that collectors are willing to spend big money for high-end product. While many of us grew up in the 80s subsisting off of visits to our local toy store and dropping a few bucks here and there on our favorite new toy, these days those same collectors are becoming disenfranchised with retail offerings and looking towards expensive, high-end collectibles to satisfy that nostalgia kick.
Well, they don’t get much more high-end and expensive than Hot Toys, and Hot Toys just delivered a knock out punch to Star Wars fas. On their Facebook page, Hot Toys has revealed stunning images of the upcoming Hot Toys Chewbacca and Han Solo Sixth Scale Figures from Star Wars: A New Hope, and my inner 8-year-old is weeping. Meanwhile, my outer 40-year-old is weeping when I think of how expensive this could get. Hot Toys has certainly dipped into the Star Wars mythos, but this Han Solo and Chewie? Amazing.

Hot Toys has always been a big fan of the iconic Star Wars saga and we are thrilled to have acquired the official right to manufacture collectibles from the Star Wars universe this year! We will bring fans a large range of high-end collectibles with movie-accurate details and stunning likeness! To kick off this incredible series, Hot Toys is very excited to introduce the 1/6th scale collectible figure of the infamous smuggler, Han Solo, from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope!
The movie-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Harrison Ford as Han Solo in the film and features a newly developed body, highly detailed costume, weapons, accessories, and a specially designed figure stand.
A special edition that is available for selected markets will include an additional Stormtrooper belt and blaster rifle which Han Solo has used on Death Star.
