Hiya Toys Reveals New Aliens Colonial Marines Action Figures – Powerloader, Aliens, Marines and More!
As some of you may know that sometime ago Hiya Toys unleashed their Aliens Colonial Marines. Their latest reveals consists of a new Colonial Marines Alien, The Powerloader and two of the most iconic Marines from brilliant 1985 action sci-fi classic Aliens. I can see why they have not revealed any Marines from Colonial Marines, as none of them are as iconic as the ones that appear in Aliens.
The Boiler Aliens are an Alien type that was created for Aliens Colonial Marines. They are the blind and deformed Xenomorphs covered in acidic pustules who explode when they find the source of sound. With the figure you can see that it’s more greenish than your average Xenomorph. It also looks that its armor is bone. Like the other Xenomorphs that they have produced, he’s in the same scale as the other 3.75-inch figures, standingĀ at almost 4″ inches. He’ll also be fully articulated and will come with an Alien egg, Facehugger and three sets of hands.
Hicks, played by Michael Beihn, is the only Marine to be really revealed in this series. Though, he’s still a work in progress at this point, as his armor and weapons are unpainted. I have to say despite the small-scale, the head sculpt looks really impressive. My only compliant is that the hair looks a little to dark. This Hicks will come with a lot of accessories, like the iconic pulse rifle, shotgun, pistol, motion tracker, welder, M3 personal pattern armor and M10 pattern ballistic helmet. I knew that the helmet will be removable but it seems the armor will be too. I’m really looking to seeing the final product. I hope he’ll come with a holster for his shotgun.
The other Marine to be revealed is Hudson played by Bill Paxton in Aliens. They have not revealed a work in progress image of what he’ll look like, only a silhouette of him. He’ll come with the same accessories as Hicks minus the shotgun. I’m really looking forward to seeing what he looks like. I hope he’ll come with an alternate head with the ‘Game Over’ face because that would be awesome.
Their biggest reveal though is the iconic Powerloader that was used in Aliens and in Aliens Colonial Marines. This one is of course in scale with Hicks and Hudson and all the other subsequent Colonial Marines that Hiya will release. This looks to be a highly detailed piece and articulated as well. I have to say I am very impressed with this. Of course the Marines will be able to fit inside, along with any other 3.75″ scaled figures that you have.
I have to say 3.75-inch Aliens Marines is a very ambitious idea. They look to be as articulated as modern GI Joe and Star Wars figures, and highly detailed as well. I can’t wait to the final products and how they look. It’s a shame that we’ll have to wait till December for all these releases.
The figures will cost you $24.99, whilst the Powerloader will cost you $99.99, which is a little steep really when you think NECA’s much larger Powerloader is being released next month and will cost $104.99. Aside that point I would really like to get all these. You can pre-order them all here from BBTS.
If you’re a fan of Aliens and a 3.75″ collector, I would highly recommend these figures.
Thanks, but no thanks. I want nothing even remotely attached to that fecal pizza six years in the baking that was, “Aliens: Colonial Marines.” Blame Gearbox management for haphazardly handling such an iconic sci-fi property. Now, “Alien: Isolation,” merchandise on the other hand, that I can get behind.
