Hasbro Marvel Legends Livestream Reveals

Earlier this week Hasbro did a live stream showcasing some new Marvel Legends figures. This year is the 60th anniversary of Spider-Man. So they showed a lot of Spider-Man-themed figures. Hasbro did show off the final figure in the first 20th Anniversary wave which is Toad which has been rumored for a while. He’s priced at the same price as Iron Man and Captain America (Hulk is more as he’s bigger) He comes with an interchangeable head, interchangeable hands, two toads, and a diorama stand base.

It should be noted that there will be more series of the 20th Anniversary figures but they won’t come in deluxe packaging. I would be very curious to see what other figures will be in this line.

For Spider-Man there were a lot of offerings covering the films, series, and comics. First up is the Spider-Man Homecoming two-pack which is Peter Parker and Ned Leeds. Both of these figures look fantastic and come with a lot of accessories. Then there’s the Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse release which is Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Ham. The Spider-Man Noir figure looks fantastic, I would definitely love to get that one.

For the comics, they revealed a Spider-Man & Spinneret Twin Pack which features a brand new Spider-Man figure as well as an all-new figure with Spinneret. The Spider-Man has toe articulation which is a first for Hasbro and works well for Spider-Man and would work very well on other athletic characters such as Daredevil. This set is a must for me.

Then there is the Knull & Venom two-pack which looks fantastic, both of these are large figures and Venom is using the Movie Venom body and looks absolutely amazing, and this is how I personally envision Venom looking. The wings look great and are fully articulated and I do love the symbiote-like sword which comes with Knull which looks very menacing. I really like the two heads you get with Knull.

Also, the Future Foundation Stealth Suit Spider-Man and the Iron Spider figures are up for pre-order as well as the Silk and Doc Ock which are back up for pre-order on Amazon.

Hasbro is releasing a Spider-Man based on his first appearance in the Amazing Fantasy comic which I really dig a lot. I love the black and red costume and all the accessories including the wings and webbing effect pieces. This is an amazing release. The only problem that I was with these releases is the boxes they come in there’s no window at all so if you are an in-box collector you can’t really see the figure and if you buy the figures in-store you don’t know if a swapper has gotten to it or not. That’s not a problem if you buy online and are going to put the figure on display.

I don’t think they’ll be doing this for the main Marvel Legends series they will still have a window of some kind so you can see the figure. I think they will do this for all their main lines. I personally think a great way to do these figures is the packaging is like a book with a cover you open and see the figure and all the accessories inside much like NECA’s Ultimate figures.

There was also a Retro release of The Lizard which has a head inspired by Steve Ditko’s original design of the character. I love the beaker accessories that he comes with and this is a must-have for me as I love the animated inspired retro figures. At the end of the stream, they showed off a soft goods cloak that looks to go with Beast who will feature in the second wave of the 20th Anniversary figures.

Most of the figures are up for pre-order both here in the UK and the US. The only figure that isn’t up for pre-order is The Lizard as he’ll be up for pre-order later this year and will be a Walmart exclusive.

He collects mostly NECA, Mcfarlane's The Walking Dead line, Hasbro: Star Wars Black Series, Marvel Legends and some Play Arts Kai. He would love to collect even more high end figures someday.
