Kotobukiya has officially revealed their DC Comics New 52 Green Arrow ARTFX+ Statue. He will be joining Kotobukiya’s extensive line of ARTFX+ statues as soon as this fall.
Green Arrow was introduced into DC Comics in 1941. The billionaire Oliver Queen was marooned on a deserted island and there learned to survive by using a makeshift bow. After being rescued and taken back to civilization he takes on the identity The Green Arrow fighting crime in Star City and Seattle. Whilst his adventures with the Justice League would take him around the world and beyond.
In the New 52 series we find the Green Arrow fights crime whilst investigating his own past and what led him to be The Green Arrow. This is the first figure of the Emerald Archer in the ARTFX + line
The statue is based on the New 52 costume and appearance of the character. I must say that I really like the look of it. His clothes and armour look exceptional and full of fine detail; it looks very much like he just came off a page of a comic book. I really like the attention to detail with all the various buckles and belts they look really good. I love how this costume blends elements of his original outfit with the hood and mask with something new and moder. Of course the blond hair and blond beard.
People are bit iffy about the mask covering his eyes completely I personally think it looks great and adds a level of bad-assery to the statue. He’s in an iconic pose with his bow held sideways in hand whilst his other hand is reaching an arrow in his full back quiver to notch on his bow whilst scouting for enemies. He stands 7 1/2″ tall (ARTFX 1/10 scale) and comes with a base, which sticks to the magnets in his feet. He’ll be released in November for around $50.
