Star Wars Celebration is almost amongst us on April 16th at the Anaheim Convention Center. This year Gentle Giant have revealed two exclusive collectibles for the event.
The first is a Jumbo sized 12″ version of C3-PO of how he looked in the Star Wars: Droids The Animated Series, which just so happens to be its 30th Anniversary. The series was a prequel to the events of A New Hope, hence why his colors are different. This is an upscaled version of the original Kenner 3.75″ figure. It features the same articulation that the original had, as well as the same card back that the original figure had. And as a cool little bonus, you are also getting a replica of the original collector’s coin.
The figure comes in a resealable plastic outer clam shell to help protect and display this limited edition figure. He’ll cost $100 and is currently available for pre-order here.
The second exclusive is a General McQuarrie Mini Bust (1/6 scale). For those of you who don’t know, Ralph McQuarrrie was the concept artist for the original trilogy. He has a cameo role in The Empires Strikes back as a General at Echo Base on Hoth. As you can see he’s wearing a Hoth Rebel outfit. They have certainly put a lot of detail into it. Also the likeness to McQuarrie is very good. They even included him carrying a helmet. The bust will cost $120 and is available to pre-order here.
