Leading up to the 2015 G.I. Joe Collectors Convention in Springfield, IL, the G.I. Joe Collectors Club pushes forward on revealing their Convention exclusive figures from the Peril in Paradise 3 ¾” figure set.
This set features the Iron Grenadiers against the G.I. Joe Tiger Force team, and we have one reveal from each faction.
First of all, is Undertow, the Iron Grenadier underwater operative. Fans of the 90s era of G.I. Joe may recognize Undertow more in a red and gray color scheme, but this particular version is based on a repainted Undertow that the Collectors Club released in 2009. Considering this 15 Figure set also includes an Undertow Officer, I think it’s a safe bet that we may see that original paint scheme on that figure.
Secondly, from the Tiger Force side, is Recondo, the G.I. Joe Jungle Specialist. Recondo appeared in Tiger Force back in the 80s, included with the Tiger Fly helicopter, but the Collectors Club decided to go eclectic with his paint scheme, focusing on the unreleased version of Recondo seen in the early pre-sale catalog from that era, rather than the more familiar retail version.
It should be noted, that pre-sales catalog is also where the infamous Sabretooth was originally seen, which was the basis for Wreckage, also included in this convention boxed set.
