I have had these Walking Dead figures laying around for awhile now and I have finally decided that I would review them. They are pretty cool, like most of the other vinyl figures that Funko makes. Well, I think that they are pretty cool at least.
There is just something about the Funko Pop figures that I like but I can’t quite figure out what it is. Join me as we look at the Funko Pop Walking Dead Vinyl Figures Review.
Packaging
The packaging for these guys is the standard Funko Pop! box. They are part of the Pop! Television series that Funko does and therefore their numbers are 13-16 because other shows took the lower numbers. I really like the Funko packaging. They give you a really nice window box that you can see most of the figure in the window.
All of the packages pretty much look the same though. There is always going to be part of the character on the left side of the box no matter what Pop! figure you pick up. It is the same with the back. But this time for the back it is a little bit changed up.
Funko put clips from the actual show on the back of the boxes of the characters. Different clips for each of the figures. I like this. You can also see the other figures incase you missed some and need to collect them all!
Another good thing about the packaging is that you can easily take the figures in and out of the boxes without damaging the box. So you can display the figure out of the box part time and in the box part time. That is totally up to you, but you get the point.
Sculpt
The sculpt for these guys is in a Japanese style and they have huge black eyes (at least the humans do). They stand about 3.75″ tall and have very basic sculpts. If you are buying one of these guys for the details then I think something must be wrong with you.
Paint
Paint is the area that you want to watch the most for on these figures. They can have bad paint jobs quite often but if you pick them up in a book store or comic shop then you can usually tell before you buy them.
The zombies have a pretty cool wash on them which makes them look pretty cool. I wouldn’t say that I like the paint on the Bicycle Girl Zombie but it will have to do. She has some sort of a grey wash all over her. If you can go without her I would skip her all together, she doesnt really look that great.
Articulation
These guys don’t really have articulation. They just spin around at the head. They look like their arms would move, but no. They don’t. I wish that their arms could move, or at least one arm.
Overall
Since these guys aren’t really toys, I can’t really say how fun they are. They look really great on display though. If you are a Walking Dead fan then this will be a great addition to your collection. Though if you can stay away from the Bicycle Girl then I would, she just looks bad.
