Funko Pop! TMNT Foot Soldier and April O’Neil Review

The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is still holding its own at the box office even though it has been in the theaters for a couple of weeks now. But the TMNT 2014 movie isn’t what you came here to learn more about, no, it’s Funko’s extremely cute line of TMNT Pop! vinyl figures, all of which are done in the classic TMNT style.

Entertainment Earth was kind enough to send me a couple of figures from the line – April O’Neil and a Foot Soldier. Even though they were sent to me as free samples, please note that all opinions and text are that of my own. If you wallet just can’t resist TMNT, you can take a look at all the great TMNT gear Entertainment Earth has.

Now if you have never ever seen a Pop! vinyl figure, they are 3.75″ tall vinyl figures from some of the world’s most popular pop culture licenses. They usually have their signature oversized heads and large black eyes.

Both of the figures come packaged in collector friendly window box packaging, with some really cool artwork featuring the Pop! on the side. The backs of both of the boxes show off what other characters are available in the line like the four Turtle brothers, Splinter, Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady.

Since these figures are “vinyl figures” they don’t really star in the articulation department. The only have articulation at the neck, which allows you to turn their head.

Now in the past I have had some serious problems with the paint jobs on Funko’s Pop! vinyl line, but this time around it’s surprisingly really well done. I couldn’t find any slop anywhere on the figure.

For being such a small figure one might expect the detail to also be lacking, but Funko has really knocked these figures out of the park. April O’Neil is detailed enough to carry a Channel 6 microphone in her hand!

Neither of the figures come with any accessories, but in reality they wouldn’t be able to use them anyways. Funko Pop! vinyl figures are some of the cutest vinyl figures available on the market and they are based on some of the best licenses in the world, like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Honestly, how could one resist?

If you have a spare $10 lying around, why don’t you pick up one of the new Funko Pop! TMNT figures and see how much you like them. I’ll bet you get addicted.
