Funko Reveals Fantastic Mr. Fox Legacy Collection Action Figures

Funko, the very well-known vinyl figure manufacturer, started venturing into the 6-inch scale action figure market earlier this year with their new line of figures called the Legacy Collection. Meant to be similar in detail, paint and sculpt to Hasbro’s Star Wars Black Series line, Funko has already released figures from three different licenses, including Game of Thrones, The Book of Life, and Magic the Gathering. Funko is finally ready to debut their fourth license in this line, the Fantastic Mr. Fox Legacy Collection action figures.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is a 2009 American stop-motion animated comedy film based on the Roald Dahl children’s novel of the same name. It is about a fox who steals food each night from three mean and wealthy farmers, who eventually get fed up and try to kill him. The animals outsmart the farmers and are able to live underground.

Funko’s CEO, Brian Mariotti, absolutely loves Fantastic Mr. Fox and just had to make figures based on it. If you have never seen the film, you probably think it’s a pretty obscure license to make a line of 6-inch figures, which is actually probably what the majority of people think. It’s really going to be interesting to see how this line does for Funko. If it does well, maybe we will start seeing figures from licenses that everyone just didn’t think were big enough?

The Fantastic Mr. Fox Legacy Collection features 6-inch scaled versions of Mr. Fox, Ash, Rat, and Kylie. They come packaged in collector friendly widow box packaging, very similar to the 6-inch Star Wars Black Series packaging. Coincidence?

These whimsical characters are going to be available this November. Pre-orders are currently available here for $19.99 each.
