First 4 Figures Reveal Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Tornado Diorama
First 4 Figures have shown off their latest addition to the Sonic The Hedgehog line with the reveal of The Tornado Diorama. This new statue recreates one of the scenes in the game with Dr. Robotnik fleeing to his ultimate creation, the Death Egg, with Sonic and Tails in hot pursuit on The Tornado to prevent him escaping.
The Tornado is Sonic’s trusty bi-plane that Tails has modified the fuselage with a rocket booster so that they can chase Dr. Robotnik with ease.
The diorama depicts Tails inside the cockpit of The Tornado with Sonic riding on top. I have to say that this diorama looks really impressive and I’m not even a Sonic fan. The Sonic and Tails figures look very much like their video game counterpart. First 4 Figures have really hit the nail on the head with this one, but what really stands out to me is the bi-plane.
The plane itself is silver and red and has an emblem emblazoned on the tail with Sonic written horizontally across the body of the plane. I really love the metallic sheen to it; It looks beautiful. The wings and propeller look great and make the bi-plane somewhat realistic. The rocket was given the same paint job as the silver parts of the plane and I really like how they’ve made the propeller looks like it’s in motion. The flame looks great too, and even more so with the exclusive version that has a LED light up feature.
What’s also really nice is that the plane is attached to a pivot joint, which allows you to display the bi-plane whichever way you want.
The statue comes in deluxe full color packaging with molded foam interiors, and includes an authenticity card, which allows you to secure the same model number for future pieces in the Sonic Diorama collection.
This is the second piece to be released in the Sonic Diorama Collection. If you have authenticated the first in this line (Sonic Generations) you will be entitled to the same number for The Tornado Diorama!
It should be noted that there’s 1000 pieces of the standard diorama, which costs $299.99, and there’s 425 pieces of the exclusive version and it’ll cost $329.99. They’ll both ship in the winter of this year.
If you’re a Sonic fan this statue is a must have, as it recreates an iconic moment from the game, especially the exclusive version.
This is an amazing looking piece. At the price of a Deluxe Hot Toy, not to mention space is at a premium, I can’t pull the trigger. Happy for those that do pick this up though.
