Drax the Destroyer 1:6 Scale Statue is Getting Closer
And This Drax the Destroyer 1:6 Scale Statue is Looking Good!
Following a period of 2 years of teasing and waiting, Hot Toys has finally released information and official photos of the Drax the Destroyer 1/6 Scale Figure. Finally, the fans and collectors will be able to complete their Guardians of the Galaxy team, making the 2 year waiting period worth it.
The statue is approximately 12.5 inches tall (~32cm) and features a newly developed head sculpt and a refined muscular body with the iconic tattoos, different from the July 2015 version that was shown around. The statue is made in great detail to resemble Dave Bautista, and even has detailed facial expressions and wrinkles.
Besides the tattoos, the body features 26 points of articulation, as well as seven interchangeable hands consisting of one pair of fists, one pair of blade holding hands, one pair of open hands, and one right hand made for holding a rocket launcher. The rocket launcher and the blades are included with the figure. The costume is made up of a pair of dark gray pants with detailed patterns, a pair of black boots with blade sheath, and a pair of interchangeable red colored Ravagers pants, also with detailed patterns. A specially designed figure stand with a Drax the Destroyer nameplate and the movie logo is also included.
The figure will be distributed through Sideshow Collectibles, just like other Hot Toys products, and will be priced at $219.99, with the option of a payment plan existing. The release date is sometime between August and October of 2016. Bear in mind that the statue in the pictures is just a prototype and that the final product might be slightly different, and this might occur without further notice. In any case, the figure is worth it considering the infinite amount of options for posing and various scenarios when combined with other figures from the Guardians of the Galaxy action figure series.
