Diamond Select Toys Reveals Ghostbusters Select Figures that will blow your mind

Since late last year, we’ve known that Diamond Select were planning on doing Ghostbusters Select 7″ figures. Well at NY Toy Fair this past weekend, they showed off the first two that are going to be released. These figures are based on the characters appearances in the 1984 cult classic comedy film, Ghostbusters.

Winston Zeddmore  (Ernie Hudson) and Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) are the first two that are to be released.

I have to say right off the bat that these figures look absolutely incredible. They look much better than the Mattel ones that were released some years ago, which are now super expensive.

The likenesses are not the strongest, and would even say that Dan’s figure is quite a bit better than Ernie’s. Though if you’re a Ghostbusters fan you are sure to know who they are supposed to be. Where the likenesses are not so strong, the rest of the details are there; from their jumpsuit, logos, backpacks, belts and wands, it’s all there. Diamond Select Toys have really put a lot of attention to these and I love it. You can see every individual piece on them. It’s incredible!

Also these figures look really articulated to boot, so you can get these Ghostbusters in Ghost Busting poses!

Accessory wise I can see that both Winston and Ray come with backpacks, wands and streams. I’m not sure who’ll come with the trap, but I can see Ray also comes with Goggles. The only things that we can’t see are bases, but I really hope they come with bases. I’m guessing if they do bases, they’ll be from the rooftop from the finale of the film.

They are expected to be released in the winter of this year and will cost around $24.99. I’m definitely getting these two without a shadow of a doubt, as well as Peter Venkman and Egon Spengler when they release them. I definitely want Egon! I wonder if they’ll release other characters from the film in the future?

If you’re a Ghostbusters fan, these are must haves. There’s simply no doubt about it.
