Dear Hot Toys, We Want Drax.

It definitely doesn’t seem like it’s been nearly a year since Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy hit theaters, but it has. It also doesn’t seem like it’s been nearly a year since Hot Toys announced their figures from the movie.

Why am I telling you this though? Because here we are nearly a year after the movie and the figures were announced/released, but we are left without an official Drax 12-inch action figure. All 5 of the Guardians (Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and Drax) were teased in early prototype form here, and then they were ALL on display at San Deigo Comic-Con 2014.

Almost all of the figures have shipped out to collectors, leaving us with a large hole in our collections. This wouldn’t even be that big of a problem if Hot Toys didn’t tease us multiple times, but they did and they made myself and many others want Drax.

I bought all of the Guardians of the Galaxy figures for the simple fact that I could have another team on display along side my complete Avengers collection. If I knew we were never going to get Drax, I certainly wouldn’t have Gammora because I have very little interest in her.

I know that I’m not the only person around here that feels like Hot Toys should release Drax, as many people have taken to the official Hot Toys Facebook page to share their anger. What started out as one person posting an image of Drax (getting 50+ “likes” from other collectors) as a comment on every announcement Hot Toys makes, has turned into everyone posting an image of Drax on Hot Toys announcements.

Clearly the support for the character is there.

If Hot Toys isn’t going to be making Drax, fine. I’m going to be mad about it, but I feel it really needs to be addressed. Tell us why you aren’t going to be making Drax, whether it be problems with manufacturing or something completely different, we want to know.

Dear Hot Toys, we want Drax, please?

Bryan first discovered an appreciation for action figures at an early age, setting up elaborate GI Joe ant hill attacks, complete with firework pyrotechnics. Due to the high injury rate for the Joes, replacements were a constant necessity.

  1. Me too! Also, will somebody, anybody, do a Ronan figure please? How the hell does that cool of a character design get almost no love and go to waste? Lee Pace, Lee Pace!
