DC Collectibles’ Batman Animated Series Action Figures take Articulation to the Next Level
If you collect DC Collectibles action figures, you probably already know they deal. They don’t feature nearly as much articulation than what is desired. Today I am spreading some good news, the new DC Collectibles Batman Animated Series action figures are going to feature much more articulation than you are used to seeing.
These brand new 6 inch Batman Animated Series action figures are highly anticipated, and for good reason. First we have Batman. There are actually two different animated Batman shows – the original Batman: The Animated Series (1992) and The New Batman Adventures (1997), which featured a redesign of the characters and a greater emphasis on Batman’s support team. Since some of the characters were redesigned between shows, so DC Collectibles is going to release some figures from the 1992 show, while others will be released based on their 1997 show designs (like Batman here).
All of the figures were sculpted in the 1/12th scale, which means all of the figures will be in scale with Batman. They original character lineup sheets were used during production, so that really insures each of the characters are in scale with one another.
All of the figures feature multiple points of articulation, like way more that you are probably used to with DC Collectibles action figures. Batman will feature 24 points, while Catwoman will feature 25.
Apart from being 6 inches tall and featuring multiple points of articulation, these figures are going to be coming with multiple accessories. In Catwoman’s case she will be coming with all of the weapons and devices that are featured in the two-part episode, “The Cat and the Claw”—whip, cat stars, camera and necklace.
Catwoman and Batman are only the first two figures in Wave 1. Mr. Freeze and Two-Face are going to be the final two figures to complete the wave, with their images to be revealed at a later date. Catwoman is the only figure in this wave to be based on the 1997 animated series.
What about Wave 2? Well, DC Collectibles can’t quite reveal the line-up, but they did say that it will contain three action figures based on the 1992 designs and one based on the later 1997 redesign.
