Custom Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ May Become Official Through Lego Ideas

Sergio Herencias who’s built the Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ from Brent Waller’s Instructions is now well on it’s way to maybe becoming a Official Lego Product through Lego Ideas with 10,000 supporters. It should be noted that Herencia’s Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ is a Hybrid of the Firehouse from Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II.

It took Sergio Herencias twenty hours and around 2800 pieces to build this and you can tell he’s put a lot of love and attention into it. You can see the sleeping quarters, lab, kitchen, lounge area and the garage.  All of which are exquisitely well detailed. I love the lab area the most it looks exceptional and I am very impressed with the garage. I am not sure as to how you would remove the garage door.

What I absolutely love the most about this though is the outer brick work; it looks amazing I really love it. I really like how he’s used a range of white bricks to make parts of the structure it gives an air of realism to it. It’s a beautiful piece of architecture in itself. The translucent plastic windows look amazing and lifelike. This really is an impressive piece.

This custom build, along with a small plethora of custom sets, is up for the second review stage on September 1st (12:00am GMT) to become an Official Lego set. I honestly will be very surprised if this does not become official, as Ghostbusters Collectibles have made resurgence of late with other companies producing replicas and figures. This Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ is a must for Ghostbusters fans and would be the perfect addition to the already produced LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1.

  1. I’m not exactly sure how Lego does their licensing, but one would think since they already had to get the license for the Ecto-1, this piece should easily be accepted as an official set.

I like the fact that the Ecto-1 is comparable with the HQ.
