Behavior in Toy Stores

Have you ever walked into your favorite toy aisle and it looked as if a tornado went through the aisle? Chances are one has, a human tornado. This is something that I absolutely hate seeing in toy stores. There is a certain behavior in toy stores that you should follow to be respectful to the other people buying toys.

The Damage

Some people go through the toys rather roughly and end up leaving the aisle trashed. Sometimes they pull on the MOC figures and the hook used for hanging gets completely ripped. Other times people are going through them so carelessly that all the toys fall on the floor. This behavior in toy stores is just not acceptable. You should try to leave the toy aisle in the state it was when you arrived.

How To Shop – Behaving

For toys hanging on the pegs I usually look on the sides of the blister and see if I see what I want. For some toys you should be able to tell what toy it is without completely removing them from the peg. If you can’t really tell what figure it is then you should take each and every figure off the pegs so that you don’t damage the cards. One rule that should be followed is place everything back where you found it.

For boxes there is usually not very much room for you to push the front boxes out of the way. For these you are going to want to remove each box until you get to the back row. When done, place all the boxes back neatly as you found them.

Conclusion – Behavior in Toy Stores

I write this article in hope that toy collectors will actually take the time to straighten up their behavior in toy store. Nothing is more annoying when you walk into the aisle and all you see is a disaster zone.

  1. Bravo! I used to work in retail (bookstore) and constantly having to clean up after the customers becomes truly soul destroying. Kids get a bit of a pass ( a very, very small one – their parents should teach them manners), but grown adults should behave civilized :).

  2. Wow. Very good information. And I completely agree. Sometimes, we need to remember what we were taught in kindergarten. But somehow, as we get older, we forget the basics. Thanks for the refresher.
