The S.H Figuarts Star Wars figure line is gaining momentum, especially with the announcement of three new S.H. Figuarts Star Wars figures. The three figures are the Battle Droid, Clone Trooper and Biker Scout With Speeder Bike. It’s great that we’re getting a mix of characters from the prequels and the original films.
Like all S.H Figuarts figures, they are 6-inches tall and very well articulated.
Honestly I’ve never really liked the Battle Droids in the Star Wars film since their debut in the Phantom Menace. I have to say Bandai has done an amazing job with the sculpt; it looks incredible. I remember having the original Battle Droid figure as a kid. It seems that this figure has the same features as that one, as you can store the rifle on its backpack and you can get him in the storage mode pose. Of course this figure is much more articulated than the original, so you should have no problem getting him in a wide variety of poses. It looks as if even its hands are articulated.
I’ve always been a fan of the Clone Trooper design; it’s just as iconic as the Stormtroopers and this looks much better executed than the Hasbro offering. For those who don’t know the Clone Troopers made their debut in Attack of The Clones. The detail is amazing and it looks crisp and clean. I can’t really fault it whatsoever. I really do dig it. Like Hasbro’s offerings, he’ll come with the small blaster and the large blaster rifle, which all standard Clone Troopers are issued with. One thing that is very clear is that this figure is much more articulated than Hasbro’s Black Series version, as you can see clearly that he has articulated toes. It’s not mentioned, but you can also see from the pictures the Clone Trooper will have interchangeable hands as well.
S.H Figurarts have really hit it out of the park with their Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike from Return of The Jedi; they simply look incredible. The detailing on both looks outstanding, especially the bike. The paint looks nice and clean on the Scout and I love all the details they put into it. Like the Clone Trooper, it seems Scout has interchangeable hands. He also comes with the small blaster pistol in an ankle holster.
I should add that the Battle Droid and Clone Trooper will be released in the November of this year whilst the Scout and Speeder Bike will be released in the March of next year. The Scout and bike will apparently be a Tamashii Nations Web Store Exclusive, which is a bit of a bummer. The Droid and Clone Trooper will cost $40 each whereas the Scout and bike will cost $108.
The Droid and Clone will be perfect for army building and the Scout and Speeder Bike are out of this world. If you’re a fan of S.H Figuarts Star Wars offerings, I would highly recommend these figures when they are released. Pre-orders aren’t quite available, but if this page is any indication just how popular these figures are going to be, then you better jump on the pre-order as soon as they are available.
