Asian Hot Toys Collectors in for Surprise, US Collectors May Not Be Completely Out of Luck

If you live in Asia and you collect Hot Toys, I’m jealous of you. You get to attend various Hot Toys exhibitions each year where they show off all of their newest products, which is basically in your backyard.

Hot Toys has made an announcement for their Marvel Avengers: Age of Ultron exhibition tour in Asia, which will be featuring several life-size figures from the movie, as well as a number of Age of Ultron collectibles figures.

Who doesn’t want a Life-Size Hulkbuster measuring over 3.3m tall?

The exhibition is set to start in Hong Kong. They are once again going to be teaming up with Hysan and Lee Theatre to bring you an epic show. Beginning on April 3rd, the exhibition is going to last until the middle of July as they travel to various locations in Asia.

Hot Toys will be visiting for following in the upcoming months:

  • Mid-Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (April 8 – 19)
  • Shin Kong Mitsukoshi’s Taipei Xinyi Place, Taipei, Taiwan (April 12 – May 31)
  • Gandaria City Mall, Jakarta, Indonesia (April 14 – May 3)
  • SM Megamall, Manila, Philippines (April 15 – Early May)
  • Vivo City, Singapore (April 15 – May 3)
  • Royal Paragon Hall @ Siam Paragon, Bangkok, Thailand (May 1 – 3)
  • Roppongi Izumi Garden Gallery, Tokyo, Japan (July 4 – 20)

One would hope that since April 3rd is so close to the movie’s release date that the company will reveal some of the new sixth scale figures, like Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Vision. All of these figures have been confirmed, but we have yet to get our first glimpse at them.

Hulk vs. Hulkbuster scene to be recreated at the exhibition with life-size figures!

Now you are probably wondering what’s so special for US Collectors? Well, Hot Toys has also said that there will be “a specially designed collectible figure will be available for pre-order exclusively during the Avengers: Age of Ultron event period”.

I am immediately assuming that this is going to be one of those ultra limited movie promo edition figures, but who could it be? Your guess would be as good as mine, but I’m also speculating that this figure will be available for US Collectors through Sideshow Collectibles, as every other movie promo figure has eventually been made available to us.

So while US Collectors may be out of luck attending the epic Avengers: Age of Ultron exhibition, we may not be completely out of luck getting this secret figure!

Bryan first discovered an appreciation for action figures at an early age, setting up elaborate GI Joe ant hill attacks, complete with firework pyrotechnics. Due to the high injury rate for the Joes, replacements were a constant necessity.
