Why Collect Toys? – Reasons

There are a ton of reasons why people decide to collect toys. Some people want the toys from their childhood memories, or toys from their favorite movies, TV shows, or Cartoons. Other people just have a fascination for animals(ie. dinosaurs) or cars. Why collect toys?

Why Collect Toys?

Collecting toys will give you a good work play balance. It is a great hobby to get into. It can be very expensive if you are not careful but it is always satisfying. If everyone knew the values you develop collecting toys I think more people would actually do it. Your toy collection can only be as good as the collector.

Skills You Develop

As you are collecting toys I am sure that you will notice that patience and resourcefulness will be important. You will need to be patient getting your collection together or you could end up overpaying. Resourcefulness also comes in because you will need to have tons of resource channels so you can know what to find and where to find it.

If you are being resourceful you will quickly find that you will develop a good friend and toy guru support system. This is vital because the best way to find that toy you are looking for is through a network of contacts. You will have no limits if you have a dependable contact system.

Toys have always been made to look very appealing to the consumer. Initially toys were made for kids but since kids usually have no money toys are also being made appealing to parents or adults. Your toy collection can even make good decorations around your house.

If you have a toy collection some of your time will have to be spent maintaining your collection. Your toys will need to be kept in perfect shape as toy values diminish when they become damaged. The better the condition of your toys the higher their resale value is going to be. This is of high importance if you have some rare toys.

Once you get the hang of collecting toys you can even profit from them. Do not expect this immediately and I don’t recommend getting into the hobby if this is your sole reason. You need to get into the hobby because you actually have an interest in it.

So, why collect toys? As you can see there are some benefits to collecting toys. You need to be sure that you have a work play balance in life and toy collecting can allow for that.
