Super Alloy New 52 Superman 1/6 Scale Figure

This morning Play Imaginative has revealed a new Super Alloy figure, but this time it’s not going to be joining the already revealed Iron Man 3 lineup. It’s going to be starting a new lineup, the DC Comics New 52 line. The first figure to join the line is going to be the Super Alloy New 52 Superman 1/6 Scale Figure. Notice how I said 1/6 scale?

Previously for their Iron Man 3 license, Play Imaginative was only able to make 1/4  and 1/12 scale figures. But now for this DC diecast license they are allowed to make their figures in 1/6th scale. I guess they beat Hot Toys to the punch on this one.

The Super Alloy New 52 Superman is going to be made with over 80% diecast material, has a real fabric cape, has over 25 points of articulation, an interchangeable head (with heat vision) and even a crystal fortress base. I think that the base is one of the greatest additions to this figure because it lights up AND it has a fan on the platform to simulate Superman’s cape. I assume that the Super Alloy New 52 Superman would be heavy enough that the fan wouldn’t be able to knock him over either, since he’s made of diecast.

There has not been any word on pricing or release date yet, but I’ll keep you updated as this information becomes available.
