Sideshow Collectibles Boba Fett Sixth Scale Figure Review
While there are some things that I didn't like about this figure like the short pants, the concave chest, and the sketchy paint on the extra hands, this figure is still outstanding. The paint on the armor looks really realistic, he comes with a bunch of great accessories, and a really great display stand.

Recently I’ve really started to get into 1/6th scale figures, and I admit that this is my first sixth scale figure from Sideshow Collectibles. Though I must say that I was excited as ever to receive my Sideshow Collectibles Boba Fett Sixth Scale Figure. When the UPS guy handed it over to me I raised it above my head and yelled “BOBBBBAAA FEEETT!!!”. Needless to say, he looked at me awkwardly and said have a nice day. That I did.
Now Boba Fett is one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars movies, coming close to the Stormtroopers, because of that great costume design. There have been quite a few 1/6 scale releases of Boba Fett over the years, but many reviews are saying that Sideshow’s take on him could be the best version so far. Let’s take a look and see if they are right.
The packaging that Boba Fett comes in is fantastic. There are images of the figure on all sides of the completely collector friendly box. One thing that I really liked is the left and the right sides of the box show the figure’s front and back side, giving you a full view of the figure without taking him out of the packaging.
The box is held closed via magnets and inside you will find a TON of text about the character. I love when packaging has text on it. I wish Hot Toys would do this. The figure and accessory tray are separate, so you can see everything nicely if you don’t want to remove the figure from the packaging for whatever reason.
When I popped this guy out the box I was instantly impressed. The helmet on this figure looks great, it’s one of my favorite parts on the figure. He has the rangefinder arm on the side of his head that moves up and down with ease, but not so easily that it just falls down when you don’t want it to.
Another great feature on the armor are his gauntlets. They almost look real if you compare them to the movie. Further down the page, there is a close-up image of them.
Here is what the inside of the range finder arm looks like. Sideshow didn’t miss out on any of the details.
Boba Fett’s armor is meant to have a tarnished look to it and Sideshow did a fantastic job at pulling that off. All of the places where there is wear look really believable.
I think that’s one of the things that make Boba Fett’s costume so great is the damage to it. There are also some parts on the armor that aren’t damaged where appropriate.
The body under the armor pretty much has all of the expected articulation that you would expect from a sixth scale figure. There is some restriction around the shoulders due to the shoulder pads, but everything else is pretty normal. The articulation isn’t as great as the Hot Toys TrueType bodies, but it gets the job done.
The accessories are usually one of the best parts about a figure besides the figure of course. This guy comes with a good amount.
He has a bunch of hands. 11 different hands total, pretty much enough hands to be able to do anything that you could think of doing with him. I love the single and double point hands, they really make this guy fun. Another thing that was really great about this guy’s hands is that each of them comes with their own wrist posts. This allows you to easily change out the hands in seconds.
Boba comes with 2 extra “action” boots. They have a bent toe so that you can make it look likes he’s really in action. It was a nice touch. They change out easily just like the hands.
What would a bounty hunter be without his weapons? He’s got those. Boba comes with a Blaster Pistol and an EE-3 mark 1 Carbine Blaster. The Blaster pistol fits nicely into the magnetic holster on his leg. The EE-3 mark 1 Carbine Blaster can fit in either one of his hands or both. It also comes with a leather like strap that I suppose you could put over his shoulder.
Boba Fett also had a whole bunch of tools in his pant legs throughout the movies. He’s got all those too. He comes with a survival knife, sonic beam weapon, anti-security blade, and rocket pack adjustment tool. It’s really cool that Sideshow included all of those as accessories.
Then there’s the rocket pack. It is just 1 solid piece and attaches fairly easily to hooks on his back. It can get quite annoying that every time you bump it, it will probably fall off.
Since I only have the regular version of this figure, I just have 1 display base. Though it does light up. The on/off switch is conveniently hidden from view but easily accessible.
If we aren’t talking about the armor here anymore then we will just talk about the clothing part of the costume. The cape is another one of my favorite parts. There are wires inside that allow for you to pose it how you wish.
The pants are a little bit short on the figure the velcro on the straps that hold the pants around the ankles doesn’t work very well. You will constantly find yourself re-adjusting that and those silly knee pads. They are pretty loose and they fall down without much effort. Between the knee pads and the pants on the ankles you will have your hands full making his costume look right.
While there are some things that I didn’t like about this figure like the short pants, the concave chest, and the sketchy paint on the extra hands, this figure is still outstanding. The paint on the armor looks really realistic, he comes with a bunch of great accessories, and a really great display stand.
Boba Fett is one of my favorite characters from Star Wars and if he’s one of yours too, you should consider picking this guy up. I have been debating getting this figure for a while now, but the images online just weren’t convincing enough for me. When he arrived and I took my first look at him, I knew that this guy was going to be great. A really solid figure.
