NECA Announces a Retro-Cloth Rocky Figure in a Grey Sweatsuit
Last year, NECA really started to get into making 8-inch retro-cloth action figures. Then at Toy Fair 2014, Randy Falk (NECA’s Director of Product Development) announced that the toy company is going to try to release at least one Mego style figure every month. NECA’s first few retro cloth figures were all horror based, but now it looks like they are starting to branch out into the other licenses that they have. Their first non-horror figure is going to be the 8-inch retro-cloth Rocky Figure in a grey sweatsuit.
The figure is fully poseable and comes dressed in real fabric clothing, similar to the retro toy lines that helped define the licensed action figure market in the 1970s. This version of Rocky is based on his iconic run through the streets in Philadelphia. He don’t come with any accessories, but he does come packaged in a blister card with a removable clamshell.
This new retro-cloth Rocky action figure is going to be available this September for about $34. Pre-orders are currently available here for a little less.
