My Top 5 Wonder Woman Action Figures
A few weeks ago, when I was called out about not including any female characters on My Top 5(ish) Favorite Ed McG figures list, I responded with a Top 5(ish) female figures list. Well…while I was going through my containers of action figures, the big guysent me down an idear for yet another top 5(ish) list: My Top 5(ish) Wonder Woman figures.
Yea. Go figure (as it were). Turns out I have more than enough Wondie figures to compile a list. And still have some leftover.
Now, at risk of being redundant, there is one or two crossovers from the Top 5(ish) female figures list. Cause, look…they were my Top 5. But, I’ve acquired a few more Wondie figures in the last few weeks that, well…makes it look like we’ve got a new list on our hands.
To make up for the redundant figures, I took some new pics. So, that should make things right with the world.
And with that…
#6: Blackest Night Black Lantern Wonder Woman – DC Direct. I picked her up loose at Wizard World Philadelphia earlier this summer. I don’t have any of the Black Lantern figures. And Wondie here was the right price to start off the collection. She’s from the Blackest Night line series 4, released back in April 2010. One of the coolest things bout her, besides being dead? The black ring.
#5: New 52 Wonder Woman – Mattel. I’ve had this figure for awhile now, and still haven’t opened her. Good reason, though. I’ve got an article in mind for her. And until I make a move on that article, she stays in the packaging. Sorry Wondie. It’s kinda difficult to make a complete judgment on a figure that’s still packaged. And by rights, she should be lower on the list until I open her, if at all. But what can I tell you? For a Mattel figure, she’s pretty good looking. So, at number 5 she stays.
#4: Agent Diana Prince – DC Direct. I know. I know. Technically not Wonder Woman. But, it was either I run her or go with Donna Troy as Wonder Woman from the same Terry Dodson line. I went with Diana because: a) she’s a really cool figure, b) I didn’t want to repeat myself too much including Donna Troy on both lists and c) I really should’ve included her in my Top 5(ish) female figures list, too. But…the list was too “political” as it was.
#3, #2 and #1: Here’s where it gets really difficult for your friendly neighborhood jman. These last three figures. We’ve got Wonder Woman from the DC Direct 2007 Terry Dodson inspired line, DC Collectibles New 52 Wonder Woman figure and DC Direct Red Son Wonder Woman figure.
I can’t do it. I can’t decide which figure I like best. A few weeks ago I got the Red Son Wonder Woman loose off of eBay. She is a great figure. I was thisclose to making her number one on this list. But, I have a feeling I’ve got new toy excitement. And I might be making an unrealistic decision that I might regret years from now putting Red Son Wondie as number one.
On top of that, it was only a few short weeks ago I made DC Collectibles Wonder Woman the number one figure on the Top 5(ish) female figures list. So, I can’t possibly not make her number one on this list.
And…AND…There’s the Terry Dodson Wonder Woman figure. Another one that should’ve been included on the original list, but wasn’t. Cause then that list would’ve been less a top 5 female figure list and more a top 3 Terry Dodson Wonder Woman list. And that would’ve been too political.
So…what do you think? What’s the top 3 here?
There’s a new episode of your friendly neighborhood jman’s almost internet famous internet show coming soon!
