Bandai Reveals New Star Wars Movie Realization Stormtrooper Figures
Bandai have just recently revealed three new upcoming Star Wars Movie Realization figures at Tokyo Toy Fair 2014. Out of the three new Samurai figures we are going to be getting, there will two variations of the Stormtrooper and a Royal Imperial Guard.
The two variations of Stormtroopers that we’ll be getting are a Stormtrooper and Sandtrooper. I have to say these look mightily impressive. I think that they are even better than the Darth Vader figure that they revealed a number of months ago. They look far better in the Samurai style than Darth Vader did. They do look almost identical aside the fact that the Sandtrooper had an orange piece of shoulder armor, which you can see is just like the actual Sandtroopers have. I really love the fact that they come with guns and katanas, which is a great homage to Samurai culture.
I really love the detail and the paintwork on these two. It looks truly exceptional, especially in all the armor pieces and the helmets. The only thing that I can see that resembles the Stormtroopers in these figures is the mask part of helmet, and of course the color white and the guns. The only part I don’t like are the nipples on the armor it looks rather silly in my opinion.
It’s unclear what exact accessories that they would come with such as interchangeable hands and weapons. It’s also not clear how poseable they will be, but judging by the images he looks pretty articulated.
In the images below, we only get a brief look at the Royal Imperial Guard. What I mean by brief is that we don’t get a really good look at it. But from what I can see you can tell what it is supposed to be. He’ll also come with a samurai sword as well as his staff weapon.
There has been no information available as of yet saying when they will be released or how much they will cost. Darth Vader cost around $100, so I would imagine they would cost something similar.
